Lawson's Stage Whispers

Crisis Countdown:
Elizabeth Van Winkle and Todd Haberkorn began organizing their new venture, Theater Fusion,
in September. The first show,
The Turn of the Screw, opened at Addison's Stone Cottage on
Friday. Here are some snags they hit the week before the curtain finally went up.

Eight Days Out:
"Our lighting designer found out that the Stone cottage has only five fixtures and five
dimmers, and this show lives or dies by the lighting. Thank God, Tristan Decker can do
anything with nothing. He scrambled around and had everything ready to go in one day." - T.H.

Six Days Out:
"We signed up for our credit card terminal six weeks ago, but the company had left two digits
off our apartment number, so we just got it last Saturday. We had been telling people, 'Buy your
tickets online,' so that was scary." - T.H.

One Day Out:
Most theaters are so old-fashioned in the way they present themselves. When I want to go out
to a movie, I base my decision on which one to see by watching the trailers, online. Brian
O'Neill, who made the video on our website, came up from Austin again Thursday to make our
trailer for us at the final dress rehearsal." - E.V.W.

The Day After:
"We are holding the final audition for our next show, Evolution, for the Out of the Loop
Festival. It opens in four weeks!" - E.V.W.
